The RK 557 crepe masking tape is a single-sided masking tape made from crepe with stabilised backing material. In combination with rubber adhesive, it provides reliable adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces and is ideally suited to masking before painting or masking contours.

The width of 1528 mm and the length of 2800 m enable long periods of use without frequent roll changes. With a thickness of 0.175 mm and a core of 76 mm, the roll unwinds steadily – even when masking larger areas. The colour chamois increases visibility on light-coloured substrates, supporting precise masking.

Suitable for covering and masking work

This masking tape replaces conventional masking material when covering large areas. It can be removed cleanly, tends to leave little residue and is particularly suitable where a long web length and stable guidance are required.

Material & construction

The crepe backing ensures dimensional stability and good conformability to irregular surfaces. The rubber adhesive provides flexible, secure hold through temperature changes and facilitates removal without damaging the substrate material.

Application tips

Apply the tape evenly with slight tension to clean, dry surfaces. For a clear edge, a straight peeling motion with light pressure is recommended. During longer masking tasks, a high roll capacity reduces interruptions and increases productivity.
