RK 618 polyester protective film – overview

The RK 618 polyester film is a self-adhesive protective film made of polyester film with a single-sided silicone rubber adhesive. At 1000 mm wide and 66 m long, it provides extensive, durable coverage for temporary surface protection, particularly where short to medium protection periods are required.

The film is 0.1 mm thick and has a 76 mm core, making it compatible with standard pulling systems in packaging or conveyor equipment. Its red colour increases visibility and makes protected areas easier to identify during assembly, coating or processing.

Suitable for temporary surface protection

Its single-sided adhesion makes the film suitable for protecting surfaces during assembly, painting, polishing or transport. The silicone rubber bond ensures reliable adhesion to smooth surfaces, while the film can be removed reasonably cleanly after use without leaving excessive adhesive residue. Its temperature resistance permits use in normal production environments at up to 160 °C for 1 hour and briefly up to 180 °C, so it can also protect during manufacturing processes involving heat.

Construction and material properties

Application tips

Clean surfaces thoroughly before use, unwind the film evenly and position it without creases. The film can generally be removed cleanly after use; depending on the substrate, adhesive residue can be treated with suitable cleaning agents.
